I heard it was a Delta 767 flight DL 141 to New York. Apparently dumped fuel over the sea and landed at Brussels or Gatwick. No more info... sorry

I also heard it was a 767 destined for the US. A highly dubious rumour (from an unreliable source) was that it wasn't an engine fire but flames out of the jet pipe that cleared and he carried on. Actually I don't believe 767s can dump fuel, I'm a little out of date but the 200 couldn't. All sounds very weird to me. Anyone know more.

Some of (but not all I think?) BA's 763s can dump - centre tank only... can still be left well above max (normal) landing weight.

Even weirder: if he was on fire, why take the time to dump fuel? Doesn't make sense to me.

Was a United 767 and a taxi driver reported seeing flames. He contacted Brussels Airport who alerted the crew but they saw nothing abnormal and they proceeded to Heathrow...
