Stealth shaped aircraft reported flying over Newport around 21:50 tonight, anyone else seen anything?
Nothing on Flight Radar as one would expect.

Would that be one of the dozen or so Newports in the UK, the 40-odd of them in the USA, or somewhere completely different?

Thought I heard something over Newport South Wales around that time, I remember checking the tracking sites as I thought it was rather loud.

Ryanair 738 EI-EPH flew over Newport, South Wales at 21.50 on it's way into Bristol.

Say "Welsh stealth" five times quickly. Or should that be "Irish stealth"?

Newport, South Wales, think the spotter would have recognised the Ryanair aircraft see them and easyjet all the time in and out of Bristol.

So why would the spotter think it was a "stealth" aircraft in the dark?

So why would the spotter think it was a "stealth" aircraft in the dark?

Because they eat a lot of carrots!

Probably just the Rosewell, NM shuttle.

Spotter says it was a definate V shaped airframe not an airliner

How could "spotter" (yourself) see this in the dark?
Probably just an early Chinese New Year prank with a model of a JAVELIN hanging from a Chinese lantern !

Anything to do with the rash of earthquakes reported in the region ?

The earthquake was just a Dash 8 landing at Cardiff.

The USAF had a massive exercise out of Lakenheath last week, so not out of the realms of possibility something ducked in flying the Old Tacan Route over South Wales (stands to be corrected on that one).

Possible long range attack (from USA) and intercept (Lakenheath). Bit worried if they got as far as Newport. :uhoh:
