Having jumpseated over most of the Caribbean, I can say that with only one exception, all the Liat drivers I encountered were great guys, very professional pilots and always willing to help colleagues in need (as I usually was! :D ).

A very belated thank you to all of them. Liat had then an appalling reputation throughout the region. Some of it was deserved. None of it was down to the skill and professionalism of the aircrew, who did everything in their power to recover delays, make sure the pax were happy, etc. etc.

PS. Thanks also for the many happy hours spent chatting over coffees upstairs in the bar @ ANU! :) Regards also to Norman Aviation owners and drivers, Carib drivers, and to that old pirate, Teddy! ;)

U guys are welcome anytime, although that decision is not mine yet, still sit on the right side ,one of these days though.

Went to Josh this evening asked for Patrice but was told she is no longer working in the tower.

Too late for saltfish and bakes, so had to call Colonel Sanders, lucky for me he delivers.:)

Yeah the bakes n saltfish was a welcome breakfast after gnd-cou-uni-bqu-svd! then it was the mad downhill takeoff with the left turn straight to bqu, and up to Patrice for a chat. then off to gnd via a few places to do it all again.

Then retire to the Sugarmill for a few "early2 ones"

Hello to all the Caribbean folks I knew along the way... Caribbean ATC operations, TropicAir, Air BVI, Carib Aviation, LIAT - pilots, controllers, ground staff, whatever...

Now living in Toronto since 1995, and after investing heavily in a Canadian ATPL licence there's a slim possibility I may have a heavy metal spot in the near future - things are really bad over here.

I have been scraping a living as a web designer / webmaster, and I created the CaribbeanALPA.com site for the boys, still maintain it and keep the Discussion Forum going as best I can.

Apart from frequenting the Forums I also help out the youngsters (pilots) as much as I can. I also update my pet project Caribbean AirNews every night. There's no money in it, but it keeps me busy and in touch with the latest aviation scams back home...

So I'm always keeping in touch with the "byes", and welcome any contacts from those I knew. At the moment I can accommodate anyone who is passing through for no charge - I'm at Bathurst and Steeles in northern Toronto, not too far from the airport so don't be bashful.

I'm heading for Barbados for a week in mid-September, so anyone looking for me there can look me up at the Dover Inn, very close to the Casuarina Hotel, sometimes at my hangout over at the Salt Ash Apartments, in the beach bar.

ATC folks and old-timer pilots like me will remember the Bell twins who were controllers in BGI - they live not far away - and Tony O'Dowd is in Oakville, south-west of Toronto. I also hear from some of the pilots passing through FlightSafety when they are here for training.
