View Full Version : Ski gear for children in Afghanistan...

...bear with me, there is some relevance!

I've been involved with the nascent skiing (and ski racing) in Afghanistan for a while, and whilst moving slowly (!) it's a really worthwhile initiative.

There is now a good selection of equipment for adults, but nothing for children (they're currently making their own skis and poles - really!). I'm confident I can find kids skis/boots/poles, and I can get them from Kabul to the north - but am looking for a (free) solution to get them from Europe to Kabul.

So, why here? Because amongst the private pilots there are many commercial pilots. Amongst the private pilots there are many working non-cockpit jobs in the aviation sector.

Luckily, the direction of dispatch reduces/removes most concerns about drug smuggling or other - but interested to hear any other concerns people might have?

If you can help (either practically or advice), feel free to post here - or send me an email (not a big fan of the PM system). sam a-in-a-circle prepare2go dot com.

See, not SO irrelevant after all!

Safe flights, Sam.

Ask the British government, lord knows we’ve sent enough other shyte out there like guns and ammo, nation building stuff like power plants etc. why not skis?

Curiously, that's not an entirely bad idea. Will phone-a-friend.

Hm, should have thought of that earlier...
