Apparently CAA rules are preventing a man with HIV from training as a commercial pilot.

This reg has been in Part MED since day one IIRC, at least here in Germany I saw the question on the official form every time I went to take the medical.
Not sure why anymore. With modern retro-virals the medical profession is offering those affected a full lifespan - and there are no symptoms which can affect flying ability.

From the article, it looks as though everybody is in agreement to the change. Hopefully not to much of an issue to push through.
