Hi folks, is their a difference between multi engine endorsement and multi engine instrument rating? I saw an old job post, similar to what I would like to do when I get my licenses, it required CPL + Multi Engine Instrument Rating. The school I am going to has a separate ME course (25 hours) and a separate IR course held on single engine (40 hours). Would I be eligible for a position like that?

No.

ME endorsement lets you fly ME in VFR conditions. It's the ME equivalent of being qualified to fly SE in the same conditions. Doing an IR on a single only qualifies you to use your IR on SE aircraft. A SE IR doesn't cover the skills needed to handle a the profoundly degraded handling qualities of a ME with an engine failure while flying in IMC. In most countries, however, doing a ME IR also gives you SE IR privileges.
