8 A380s gets you around 24 A321NEOs, add the other 110 and every Group narrowbody has a replacement.

Maggot has the correct info - the decision was made a long time ago for the QF LH fleet to consist of B787's & B777X's with a single pilot endorsement.
Puff pieces like this are periodically released to keep Airbus happy and keep a little bit of competition running between the two main manufacturers.
