Hi!

I'm a Swede (the nationality) who is desperately looking for a way to do my FAA flight review so that I can convert it (must be current). Unfortunately there is no one in either Sweden or Denmark that can offer the service.

So I'm looking for a FAA CFI that can help me out, preferably at an airport that I can travel to easily from Sweden.

Thankful for any help!

Rob Spencer is I think thus qualified and works quite regularly out of White Waltham (an easy taxi ride from London Heathrow) or Cranfield (a little further from London Luton). Drop me an email (not a PM please) via Pprune and I can send you his contact details.

There are 28 current FAA CFIs in Sweden and Denmark, and NONE of them will help you??

@rudestuff Not so far no, in their defence most ser not current anymore. Is there anyway to get a list of the 28? I might just go door to door.

Have a look at landings.com > databases > pilots, or google FAA registry - you can search anyone with an FAA certificate by qualification as long as they have a current medical.

I believe you'll find one at Stapleford too - easy from stansted/lcy.

Did you find someone? I have now same situation ahead of me. Have not found anyone anywhere. But this thread gives me some hope. I'm willing to travel pretty much anywhere in Europe.

Can help out but located north of the border in the UK.
I'm based in the west of Scotland and do some occasional instructional / Trial lesson stuff using my UK issued EASA licence that has a FI rating but I also have a US FAA issued CFI certificate and can do a BFR if needed for someone if they fly using a FAA certificate.

Not wanting to be too persnickety, but...

The word is "biennial" - every two years, not biannual - twice per year. From an FAA perspective, the preferred term is "Flight Review." It ceased being the BFR sometime late last century.

Background - in the mid/late '90s the FAA considered having a flight review for pilots with less than 400 hours every 12 calendar months and one for more experienced pilots every 24 calendar months. Since it was no longer "biennial" for everyone the term "flight review" was adopted. Twenty years ago...

On a similar subject I hold an FAA ATP certificate, with a type rating for HS125 and MEL privileges. It’s a stand alone licence, not based on my UK/EASA ATPL. I’ve not flown an N reg aircraft since 1996, but assuming I renew my FAA medical is there anywhere in the UK where I could do whatever training and test is required to add single engine land privileges to the licence?

Hi all

I appreciate this thread is quite old so thought I'd resurrect rather than start a new one. I'm looking for a current FAA CFI who could carry out a biennial for my PPL(A). I haven't flown fixed wing for around 15 years so would need lessons to become competent again. Ideally in a PA28 and as close to the south west (Cardiff / Bristol) as possible.

Any recommendations and advice appreciated.
