Anyone still do it, I recall a Cub picking up banners years ago from a farm strip just north of GLA but not seen any banner towing for years?

George Cormack, owner of Cumbernauld and Thornhill airfields used to do/organise banner towing.

Thanks, think that's the chap who used to do it from the farm strip north of GLA, I've passed this info on.

Air Ads (http://www.air-ads.com/contact-air-ads.aspx)

are in Blackpool and have come up to Strathaven to fly banners.

They came up for the Scottish referendum to fly a banner for the Union campaign. I think it said: Scotland Better in Union

My 85-year-old mother (my father once stood for the SNP in the 1960s) only saw the first two words and told the young organiser: What a wonderful idea!

He was a young gentleman, but wise enough not to try and correct an old lady!

(it looks as though the phrase was a bit longer... but the story is true nonetheless.)
