What's with all of this media hype about a young bloke who simply flew around Australia on his own.
Doesn't seem to me to be a big deal at all ! He looks like having quite a swag of modern Nav gear and a nice comfy aeroplane. Surely flying around Australia is as simple as keeping the land very close to the left or right of the aeroplane depending on whether he went clockwise or ant-clockwise.
I really can't see what all the fuss was about , it would appear to be just a long solo cross/ around country flight. Surely nothing to be excited about.
Way over the top IMHOP.

Have you done it? I've never done it, he has. Well done, lad.

Not sure who we are talking about here but a flight in a light aircraft around the coastline of a country as big as Australia by a young pilot is pretty impressive if genuinely done solo (ie not accompanied by an experienced instructor!).

However, it is somewhat eclipsed by Australian teenager Lachlan Smart's solo circumnavigation of the world in a single engined aircraft last year.
