Hi guys,
Just wondering - is there any formal differences training required between A332 and A333? Or can I pretty much hop from one to another without any previous experience with one of those models?
I'm asking, because I had to do one between the A320 and A321 - it was just a PowerPoint presentation, or CBT, or some such. I haven't seen one for the A330 though...
Interesting that some of the Sims we have are A332 while we have only A333 in the fleet. Doesn't seem to matter.

Same in my mob - our sim was also A332, even though we only operate the 333. Never flown an actual 332 though, never had the 332 FCOMs. Wonder if I could just hop in and go...

Flew both, never had a difference training.
Also Sim on one type, flying the other, no limitations.
We even had a trip outbound on A333, return on A319 😮

Obviously it depends on the country / regulator, but nothing in my airline. We fly MFF on A320-A321-A332-A333 and the first time I flew the A333 was just a regular non-training flight. A320>A321 was a powerpoint however.
The A333 is really no different. It's nicer to fly, more stable on the approach vs. the A332 which can be a bit 'pitchy'. Turbulence penetration is M0.78 vs M0.80, but we aren't encouraged to memorise those anyway due to MFF - they are printed on the back of the normal checklist in each aircraft. Fuel jettison is not installed on A333, it's a customer option on A332 anyway. Centre fuel tank is 'missing' on older A333s (it's actually physically present but not connected). Newer heavy weight ones have it activated I understand.
Can't think of much else!

Probably because AIRBUS GO5 will now only supply A330-200E datapacks so the likes of CX (and others) have no option but to operate 200E sims.
Similar issue with their A350s
