FAA Licence renewal

Hi

I had a 61.75 licence about 6 years ago. I have since changed from Jar to EASA and changed my address so I presume this no longer exists?

What is the easiest way to now get an FAA licence? Do I have to go through the whole process again? Can I just visit an FSDO or do I need to do a flight with an examiner?

Since your licence number has changed you are a new 'person' so far as the FAA are concerned and have to make a new application - same as the first time, do the flight review and you are good to go.

Your old 61.75 is no longer valid, but I couldn't be issued with a new 61.75, as the old one was still in my name. Instead, I was issued with a revalidated replacement 61.75. That was when my old UK licence was replaced with a JAR number on changing my address.
You can, at a price, do it in person at the CAA, or for free, having payed the CAA to conform your details, at any FSDO. In 2010, Denver were puzzled as to the procedure.

You have to do the whole process, it may be a little quicker as various vetting will be in your name, but you don't just get to tell them your licence has changed.

If you doubt it just look at the fuss the FAA make if you change address.

As your licence expired years ago why the rush now, just do it over

The CAA process (http://www.caa.co.uk/General-aviation/Pilot-licences/Applications/Outside-EASA/FAA-certificates-for-UK-licences/) is by far the easiest so long as you don't mind a trip to Gatwick. Takes about 4 weeks to get the new FAA Certificate. You will need SRG 2110 (http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SRG2110Issue02enabled.pdf)
This process will sort out the change of address and get your ELP added to the certificate. As I recall it under the FAA system it cost $2 to effect a change of address.

Thanks guys, the CAA process sounds good. My address has also changed but I cannot see any comment about that on the CAA website so hopefully its not an issue.
