As per the title, this guy had bought a new plane, never taken a lesson, but proves that anyone can fly a plane. It's the landing that's a bit tricky !!

Has been posted already in 'Accidents and close calls'.
It's a US operated 'ultralight' and I am given to understand you are not required to take any training or hold a US Private Pilots Certificate in order to fly one.

Either training is too expensive or aeroplanes are too cheap.
It must have had very forgiving handling the abrupt pull-ups and steep turns he went through
Another aircraft and he would have stalled or spun in with probable fatal consequences

As I said, in the USA training is not legally required on this category of aircraft.
It looks like the brochure didn't tell him what the footrests were for...
He is indeed a lucky SoB; he tried SO hard to get into a stall/spin scenario, but failed.
I wonder if his trousers were rejected by the laundry due to toxicity...

I've read that Wg Cdr Ken Wallis, after one of his "Little Nellie" gyrocopter demonstrations, was approached by a local farmer, who was interested in buying one to do small scale crop spraying. Wallis told him that it was technically possible, but would involve an expensive re-design.
And, "How much flying experience do you have ?" ... "Well, none actually", was the reply, "but I suppose I could pick it up over a weekend" ... !!

I totally agree, but in the USA, if it's not illegal people will do it and there used to be the US 'Ultralight' magazine available in the UK which had many accounts of people just buying an 'ultralight' and flying it straight away.
Many years ago, both in 'Chips' and 'The Dukes of Hazzard', the 'stars' were allowed to fly basic weightshifts with no instruction.

Yes yes, nothing new there. But I bet those 'stars' WILL have taken some tuition, even if they weren't legally required to.
