Hello All
First post and I apologise if this question has been asked and answered before.
I'm currently doing my PPL (H) in the UK with a view to get CPL. Obviously a very expensive process. I appear to be on target to completing the PPL within 45 hours. Therefore I wish to use my hours as efficiently as possible. I'm learning in the Robinson R22 for cost reasons.
I had a flight in an R44 from a visiting CFI (also UK based) who told me that the hours I do in the R44 will count towards my 5 hours of type conversion as long as I complete the conversion within 6 months. Most of the instructors who I asked did not realise or think this was the case but the visiting CFI said that he had seen it done and that the CFA does not specifically say you can nor does it specifically say you can not count hours done under the PPL towards your type rating.
Does anyone know categorically which is correct?
My top priority of course is to ensure I will be an excellent and safe pilot in all regards, so being smart with the costs comes second, but it still something I need to keep an eye on.
Thanks
