TRI logging time

Gents,

Question, I have recently become a TRI. This grants me the privilege of giving sim and line training.

Do you logs these hours and how? Line instruction would be given as PIC obviously but do you also log it as instruction given?

Sim instruction I wouldn't log toward any total time and PIC, etc, again obviously, but do you log it as instruction given?

Yes, this is Flight Instruction so goes in your Flying Log Book (if you so wish)

As this is not flying it cannot be logged in the Flying section of your Log Book, but could be recorded somewhere else.

Hours on real aircraft while providing instruction (keep in mind you are only a type rating instructor-in theory, your job ends with the type rating checkride, thereafter-what would you train other than type differences training?).

What are your company policies?
Does the Ops Manual say you need to be a TRI to do Line Training?

The use of a TRI for Line flying under supervision is only to be logged as instruction for training zero hour candidates who go straight to the line after using a level D sim, without the take off and landing requirement. Normal Line Training Captains do not have to have any EASA instructor requirements.

If you were in this situation both your TRI course and your AOC company would have briefed and trained you accordingly. If you don't know I would suspect just log instruction in the sim. It will be a safer bet when you go to become a TRE with your 50 hrs instruction.
