Was asked recently:
1. What is the cockpit cut off angle was on the A320. Manual talks about cockpit angle but does not state the angle. Assuming correct seating position. At the take off position what is the cut off angle.

2. Assuming authorised for 125 RVR take off and considering cut off angle how many centre line lights should one see at 15m spacing.

3. What is the length of the blind zone under the a/c?

The "visual segment" in RVR 125 conditions for A320 family aircraft is 112,5. Reference Airbus getting to grips with CAT II/III OPS, page 181.

re 3) blind zone under the nose is 12,5 m.

re 2) Eight or seven, depending on their location

- note a) there is no formal requirement to count the lights at LVTO start. The minimum visual segment of 90 meters is satisfied by the aircraft geometry and forms the grounds for operational approval LVTO 125, without the need to check it on day-to-day basis. Many operators do have such SOP, even their CAAs want it, but that is not the Airbus LVO team's understanding of the subject.

- note b) for LVTO with less than 150 m, pilot's assesment of the initial RVR is not authorized. RVR readout is both mandatory and controlling.

re 1) FCOM PRO-NOR-SOP-10 B: Visual Ground Geometry refers
