Anyone know anymore details, who the pilot was, or type of aircraft? Very sad to hear :(

What type of aircraft was Milfred flying? The updated news report indicates that it may have been an RA-AUS machine.

Another tragic loss, RIP Milfred.

I think it was a Kitfox or lookalike. A number of those in Taz.

Just found a news article saying its an 'Avid Aircraft Mark IV.' see http://www.examiner.com.au/story/4507719/75-year-old-pilot-dies-in-crash/

Milfred was one of our fire spotters in years gone by when I worked out of DPO. I like others spent many summer afternoons bumping around the sky with Milfred chasing the smoke coming out of the plantations.

A quiet, unsuspecting fellow. Flying at 75, thats an achievement!
