Time limit of a skilltest/LPC submission to the CAA

What is the time limit to submit a skilltest/LPC to the CAA? I have in my hands my IR LPC for 6 months and I do not exercise the privileges of an IR holder. Do I have any time limit to submit it to the CAA?

It is my understanding that Examiners are required to submit their paperwork within two weeks of the event. Since we do not carry out IR work at our club I am not sure whether this rule applies to your forms.

If its an initial IR then it must all be completed withing the time validity of the Theoretical Knowledge Exams or you will have to retake them. For a Class or Type Rating:The applicant shall pass the skill test within a period of 6 months after commencement of the class or type rating training course and within a period of 6 months preceding the application for the issue of the class or type rating.
I cannot find a specific limit for the IR Skill test except that the 1 year validity starts the day you passed the test and after 12 months it will have expired. You cannot renew a rating you have never held so it would be an initial test again. If the IR was part of a Class or Type rating you have blown it.

Also, see the proposed new FCL.015(f) as stated in NPA 2016-16:

(f) The applicant for a licence, rating or certificate shall apply not later than 6 months after having succeeded at the skill test or assessment of competence.

Why is there a time limit?
I can't imagine Why anyone would wait having spent lots of money completing a course and taking a test.

Over the years I have seen a number of candidates meet all the qualifying requirements but have not made an application then, through no fault of their own, they have lost their medical, meaning they are no longer eligible to apply!
