Hi

Given constant level and wind, if the SAT changes how does this effect fuel consumption.

Drop in temp is more dense air and therefore higher fuel burn?

If so, why?

Thank you

Could it be that the a/c is trying to maintain fixed mach no? That changes with temp. I'm thinking more about change in fuel flow with a change in temp once you are at crz FL, not a consideration pre-flt. There are some very knowledgeable members who will tell us precisely.

Constant level, constant wind, could manually entered speed (not CI)?
