Dash-400 off the runway into the snow.

Tell me this video is not in real-time, it just looks really fast.

My wife is flying ANA to Chitose on Wednesday. I've suggested to her not to board the one with grass and mud-stains on the nose.

Was this take off or landing?

Either way I would not have thought stopping on a 10,000ft runway would be a problem for a Q400 with all that reverse available, although directional control could be difficult if there is zero braking action.

Asymmetric reverse works wonders when conventional directional control becomes a problem.

"Asymmetric reverse works wonders when conventional directional control becomes a problem."

Worked well on the Electra usually, although I had an interesting experience in Gothenburg early one morning when a less than delicate captain had us going forwards, then backwards, then not sure, in a white out with fresh snow on top of sheet ice on the apron. The marshaller was not impressed!

Mind you, one of the local F27 operators did a full aircraft width, 5 wheel drift as he came onto the apron, he then taxied very, very slowly.

At that landing speed no wonder he went off the runway..

Look at the opening frame, bottom left corner. What does it say?
"Video Speed Accelerated".

That was added later, after this thread had already started.

Considering that the thread starter claims to hold an ATP and be current on the CRJ, one has to either assume he is joking or....?

In jest, I found it amusing. I should have known someone here would be offended.

It would be about right for a CRJ flapless...
