Does anyone know if as an FI I can do the 10hrs training for an NPPL to PPL conversion outside of an ATO?

I've been asked to do this on the individuals group plane?

Looking in CAP804 its as clear as mud!

All training for the issue or renewal of EASA licences, ratings and certificates must be completed by an ATO (or RF) with the sole and conditional exception of part of the CB-IR. In the case of the PPL, FCL.210 applies:
FCL.210 Training Course

Applicants for a PPL, SPL or BPL shall complete a training course at an ATO.This may be found in CAP 804, Section 4, Part C, Subpart 1, Page 2

Thanks for that ... all still a bit grey as that's for initial PPL training.

A load of stuff about NPPL-PPL conversion here but doesn't mentioned using an ATO.
CAP 804, Section 4, Part P.

Which is what you've been asked to conduct! A Part-FCL PPL(A) course with credit for 'virtual NPPL-to-LAPL' and FCL.201.A(b) experience requirements and credit.

Such training must be conducted at an ATO (or RF) - or shortly, at a DTO.

EASA has now produced a Consolidated Version of Part FCL (https://www.easa.europa.eu/system/files/dfu/Part-FCL.pdf#)including the AMC that may be of more use to you than the out of date CAP804.

Is that the version that "consolidates" 193 pages of 1178 into 1297 pages of "easy access"?

WTF is a DTO TLA?

WTF is a DTO TLA

It's what us RF types hope we will seamlessly, painlessly and very inexpensively morph into.

TOO
ps of course RF is a TLA, not a TLA.

It's what us RF types hope we will seamlessly, painlessly and very inexpensively morph into.Fingers crossed then for the EASA Committee vote later this month, delayed from October as there were a number of vehement dissenters. Even if it does go through, it will now be challenging to get it into law before the derogation runs out in Apr 2018 so slowly grind the wheels of EU bureacracy.
