They left out of Houston heading to Mexico and decided to land in San Antonio. Based on the fact that fire equipment was already in position it tells you that the crew knew something was up. Fairly new aircraft as well - delivered in June.

Evacuating via the rear seems like a poor choice with slides at that angle! Any reason evac via the front doors couldn't be done?

(Also, the crew obviously knew something was up when they *diverted* to another airport...)

Interesting that only rear slides were deployed. They look kinda steep. The forward slides might not have 'slid' at all, but....just curious. It looks like an EB190. Could this have been a captain instruction and is it a type recommendation? Only asking.

To stop the pax deplaning from the front and cause adverse C of G change?

It's an E175 owned and operated by Skywest Airlines. Slides at rear seem to be redundant in this situation. There's one bloke scratching his head anyway.

They made great landing even without nose gear.
I'm just curious how it was towed to the ramp without nose gear..

Depends on how the evacuation was directed. If everyone rushed to the rear at the same time, the C of G would transfer aft (with a tendency to lift the nose).
With the fuselage skin rubbing on the ground, the possibility of fire exists. Perhaps another reason for deplaning at the rear (?)

The Avherald report suggests that they didn't get three greens on final approach to Monterrey, so then decided to divert to SAT.

Cabin crew demeanour appears to be appropriate, well done!
