Hi,

Please can someone answer me the following questions:

1. What ratings (apart from the FI(A) Rating itself) do I need to become a fully qualified Flying Instructor?
Do I need a CPL, IR and Multi Rating?

2. What would be the minimum number of hours I'd need before even being considered for employment by a flying school once qualified?

3. What are the chances of finding full-time employment as a FI in the current climate?

4. What can a full-time Instructor earn? Are they paid a basic monthly wage, or are they paid depending on how many hours flying they do per month?

Many thanks to anyone who can give me some insight.

Hi Cogy,

1. If you want to earn money then a CPL
2. Whatever hours it takes to get your CPL/ FI(R)
3.Depends where you live many FTO's recruit the FI's they have trained.
4. £12 -£15K if your lucky, some schools pay a retainer while some give you a tenner for showing up.

Hope this helps, use search for more details.
