Removal of liquid restrictions for operating crew

You, what are you doing??? Have you bothered to sign this (https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131431) yet? If not, why not?

This petition demands an end to the liquid security restrictions at UK airports for operating flight crew. The aircraft is our place of work and like every other employee on this planet we have a right to eat and drink what WE like on board. As pilots and cabin crew we want to consume our choice of fresh juice, smoothie, yogurt, lasagne or curry, not that preservative laden unhealthy ****e.

This is about our health and well-being, so don't be a mug and sign the petition (please :))

Dear Mods, this thread does not belong in Safety, CRM...It needs reach, the best way to do that is stick it under Rumours and News. You would be helping pilots and cabin crew (the very people who make PPRuNe what it is and bring you the revenue you need) massively. Please consider moving this back to Rumours and News!

The UK is the ONLY European country where crew is being refused to take their liquids with them.

I have to check my items in to the hold.
I then make a point to take my bags out of that hold and put it in the cabin. In plain sight of Security who has no power to decide what goes in my cabin and what not 😆

Yes, as a few deranged individuals have demonstrated, pilots can easily crash the jet but what about CC?

The whole idea of liquid explosives in such small quantities is BS anyway. It has been debunked (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/17/flying_toilet_terror_labs/).
The UK government was due to lift the restrictions 2 years ago, even for passengers, but they changed their minds last minute.

Liquids are currently restricted to 100ml per bottle, and 500ml in total. If the minimum required to blow anything up was say 2 litres (it's way way more than that), then 20 individuals carrying a tiny bit of (whatever it is that's dangerous) can bring the right ingredients onboard without anyone noticing. They can do this and many other things like smuggle onboard separate components, each which would then make a weapon. Where does the absurdity end?
