Good luck to 18 year old Lachlan Smart who left today on his circumnavigation attempt.
Queensland teenager Lachlan Smart has taken to the sky in his bid to become the youngest person to fly solo around the world in a single-engine aircraft.

The 18-year-old flew his Cirrus SR22 out of the Sunshine Coast Airport just after 4:00am, bound for Fiji.

He plans to land in 24 countries on a 45,000-kilometre trip that is expected to take seven and a half weeks to complete.

Lachlan has spent two and a half years preparing for the journey.
