LAPL passenger restriction

Can anyone tell me what exactly needs to be done to lift this LAPL passenger restriction? 10 hours of PIC, I know, but anything else specifically? Thanks.

FCL.105.A LAPL(A) - Privileges and Conditions

(a) The privileges of the holder of an LAPL for aeroplanes are to act as PIC on single-engine piston aeroplanes-land or TMG with a maximum certified take-off mass of 2 000 kg or less, carrying a maximum of three passengers, such that there are never more than 4 persons on board the aircraft.

(b) Holders of an LAPL(A) shall only carry passengers after they have completed 10 hours of flight time as PIC on aeroplanes or TMG after the issuance of the licence

What gives you the idea that there should be any further requirement?

Thanks. Because I have a German guy just got a LAPL and training web sites in Germany are referring to supervised x countries with an instructor and an 'additional exam'. Must be an urban myth. It's all EASA isn't it?

There is no formal requirement for 'supervised cross-countries with an instructor and an additional exam'. Neither may NAAs gold-plate Aircrew Regulation requirements to suit themselves.

However, it's possible that a flying club might have its own requirements before it is happy to lease an aeroplane?

Incidentally, IAOPA has proposed that the '10 hour' clause, which for some reason doesn't apply to the LAPL(H), should be amended to allow novice LAPL pilots to carry passengers without the 10 hour PIC restriction, provided that such flights are supervised by an Instructor. I put this to the last FCL Implementation Forum and it received unanimous support, so it is now up to EASA to make the appropriate change. However, they move with the speed of a handicapped glacier, so don't expect anything soon...

Since the LAPL(A) holder has demonstrated to an examiner their ability to safely carry out a flight with a passenger during their Skill Test, why not propose removal of the 10 hour restriction completely? They've passed the Skill Test deeming they are competent and possess the required skills. I'm sorry, I just don't get the logic behind the restriction.

ifitaint, I agree. But at the meeting it was clear that the only way to achieve unanimous agreement from the others regarding easing the 10 hr restriction was to propose that early flights with passengers are to be supervised by an instructor. They couldn't put up any argument to that.

So, unfortunately, it was that or nothing.

Unfortunately the EAS delegate didn't turn up...again, so couldn't provide any comment at the meeting, although all delegates had received copies of the proposal in advance.
