The BBC Devon website is reporting that a Tiger Moth was involved in a forced landing yesterday.

Photos on the website show a very sad looking aircraft but fortunately the pilot only suffered minor injuries.

No matter how skilled, a forced landing requires an element of luck.

If you walk away it was a good landing,
If you taxy away it was a bloody good landing.

If you taxy away it was a bloody good landing.
And if you can re-use the aeroplane it was a bloody marvellous landing!

I suspect that's a fairly recent rebuild - bugger! But it will fly again and our hero walked away. Good news!

Not sure that the pilot will be so easily fixed, but he is a fighter !

Thank goodness it's not been on the BBC every time I've ended up in a field.

Maybe if it wasn't painted camouflage hedge-green, it would be more easily seen from above....
