Hi all, just a quick questions about radiations.

Considering a possible situation where the WX Radar is left accidentally "ON" after engine shutdown with throttles idle on the apron.
This WX radar doesn't have tilt control in auto mode so i don't know where the antenna is pointing. (Honeywell IntuVue RDR-4000).
Standing at around 20 meters from the nose for a couple of minutes .... How bad is it for the body ?

I suspect it is fine. The radars of yesteryear were incredibly powerful compared to today's models, however the safe radiation distances are often still based on those old monsters. If you can get the specs for the RDR 4000, there is a formula in this FAA document that calculates a minimum safe distance.

Nonetheless, it it not trivial in order to paint weather 200 miles away.

Maybe some genius should developed a smartphone app.

20 inches from the body wouldn't do any harm either...
20 mm might if you went to sleep there.
