Hi there all,

I have roughly 1600 hrs with about 1000 hours instructional time total and am considering converting my Australian rating to a UK one. I already have a CAA fATPL I/R. Is this a laborious process or is the previous experience taken into account?

In terms of job hunting, I've read the posts and see that there's competition in the FI ranks as much as anywhere. Is it the old story that there are jobs there but not so many "More Qualified" pilots?

All comments welcome (except ones about sheep ):D

Cheers, LP

To add your overseas instructor rating to your UK licence you must complete a minimum of 15 hours flying training and 30 hours groundschool with a FIC instructor and pass a test with an FIE. As you have enough experience as a FI, your rating would not be Restricted.
