OK, I am trolling through the CAA web site as I am converting an old CAA for life, that is not for life, to an EASA licence. I have been told I need to get form SRG1199 signed off to prove I can speak English to ICAO Level 6. How Ironic to be reading the CAA's Guidance Note 2, Imporatant Information, where it has this line
" Language Proficiency:
In order to exercise the privileges of a Pilot licence were the operations of the aircraft require the use of radio
communications equipment, the individual must hold a valid Flight Radiotelephony Operator's Licence. Such a licence will
only be granted if the applicant holds a valid Language Proficiency Certificate in English in accordance with Appendix 2 of
Part-FCL.055 prior to licence application. Should you not hold a valid Language Proficiency in English; your application will
be returned".
I have underlined the word "were" as it should read "Where"!! How embarrasing to have such a grammatical error in such a documment? Or maybe if you spot it, then you can forgo the test?

I have been told I need to get form SRG1199 signed off to prove I can speak English to ICAO Level 6.You have probably been signed off for Level 6 by the Examiner in every revalidation you have done over the past 10 years. Trouble is, the CAA can't be bothered to look for it. Most of their documents are riddled with errors, nobody checks anything any more.

SRG1119E is riddled with spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors. Perhaps the author is Level 4 or lower.

I blame EASA...

Did it really say 'IMPORATANT information'? If it didn't, you might want to edit your post.:)

I therefore gave the first post a steely glance to see if there possibly could be an error in such a documment?
