have a Pitts S2A and several Pitts instructors
There is also Alan Cassidy at White Waltham. You can contact him through Waltham ops, or via the Waltham website.

You can fly with Dale at Norwich, too.

All the aeroplanes mentioned are S2A's but G-WREN has an open front hole.
I've flown G-WREN since the recover and have fly the Norwich based one several times a year. They both fly well and are on a par with Pitts' I have flown in the States. I've not flown Alan cassidy's aeroplane but it too has a closed canopy and looks quite smart at competitions where I regularly see it.
Dave Cook at Shoreham has just started dual trag on his S2B for £190 an hour which seems very reasonable in comaprison with the S2A's that go for £170-180/hr. The 2A has a 200hp IO360 Lyc and the 2B a 260hp IO540. I'd contact DC through the tower at Shoreham.
Very hard to fly to get to fly an S1 initially unless you either have a very special friend or buy a share/whole one or have jillions of hours on similar birds.
The socialist in me says that every family should have a Pitts! I'm sure that Flick Off and possibly even Ludwig will agree.

That's also very reasonable compared to what you will pay in the States! $300 per hour dual round here!

I think there is an S2A avilable for training at Wickenby. Don't have any details though.
£170/180 an hour.!!!!! Do you think DC will give me a discount for being a pruner? Also a discount for being the private flying Mod and also one for him having the same name as my uncle.!!!!! :D
I might just go and see him, EGKA is my home airfield and see whats what. I would love a go in a Pitts. Always remember the old Rothmans ones from years ago...... Happy days... :)

Down here in New Zealand you can pick up dual Pitts training for around NZ$220 which amounts to under 100 pounds the way the dollar is.Maybe this could be an option?

GO FOR IT!
Beware, flying a spam-can will be so totally boring you will give them up! You will also never be able to do a decent base to final turn again in a spam-can :D :D :D
Does he let you solo?
Where in NZ???? Got a web site???
