I am about to insure a new aircraft and have been getting a number of quotes.
An unnamed online company offers a very nice saving over some of the Brokers, but in life, you tend to get what you pay for!

I still need to read all the 'small print', and check that I am not missing anything and I will double check the cover is accurate before committing.

Would anyone care to comment on any experiences with the Online Insurers?

Appreciated!

Positive experience with Visicover, having previously used Traffords and Haywards. Can't comment on any others.

Thank you! Similarly placed at this moment in time and considering the move.

Fourth renewal with Visicover and have been pleased with the service, price and level of cover. Only minor gotcha is that if you are based at a non secure location then malicious damage cover is not inclusive but then I am unable to confirm if other insurers provide this as an inclusive item.

I've switched one of my aircraft to Visicover recently and the other will be moving when the renewal is due.

Can't comment about the claims process because we haven't claimed. But, Bob Bevan was prepared to spend 30+ minutes of his time on the telephone with me to sell me the product and reassure me that switching was the right thing to do.

The monthly payments at 0% interest and the betterment option are both no-brainers, not generally offered by the rest of the market.

The price of insurance is not the only aspect of the company. It is how they treat you and your claim when you make one. Has anyone got any experience of Visicover?

Fortunately I haven't had to make a claim myself however, I did make enquiry of somebody who had. Apparently a seamless process which the claimant was delighted with.

Thank you all for the comments.
Sold my last aircraft with 5 months cover remaining - no Premium returned from my then insurer. Am not inclined to return to them to cover the new one.

I certainly like the look of the Visicover product let alone the competitive edge.
Got just a few more days to decide.

We changed to online in November. We had good accident experiences with our previous broker, but the last accident was in 1999. We won't know if the money saving was real until we have another accident, hopefully never.

Yes, I have and I am very pleased with the way they handled my claim.

I believe Visicover use an independent loss adjuster (Airclaims?) who also act for most of the other insurers. So that aspect shouldn't be significantly different.

Another user of Visicover here!!

prices were great, cover was checked and found to be of same level as competitors, policy admin can be handled/adjusted online including moving from one a/c to another and adding/editing named pilots for FREE!! whats not to like!

My first a/c insurance but Bob Called me personally and held my hand throughout the process, I certainly won't be considering talking again to the others!!

If you find yourself in a claim situation and something is amiss which voids cover I'm sure it wouldn't really mater what company you went with.

Did I mention I really like VisiCover??

If Carlsberg did insurance policy's they would rebrand as Visicover!!

Dear All,

Many thanks for the kind comments about Visicover, it's good to know the service is being so well received.

One small clarification if I may, the claims management company we use is Charles Taylor who have been providing these services to the aircraft insurance industry for many years.

Cheers,

Bob

It is comforting when the adjuster is an aircraft engineer who is pleased to fly himself to France to inspect the wreckage. :)

I was curious about this company so decided to give it a try. Disappointingly but not unexpectedly, they tell me they will only quote to residents of the UK, either phyisical persons or companies. So this poor continental will have to stay where he is.
