Hi,

Is it possible to reinstate an expired Flight instructor license here in Europe?
Do I have to fly back to USA to do it?

Any info would be appreciated.

Please note: I'm not trying to renew my flight instructor license, it has expired for 5 years now.

Thanks:ok:

You will need a checkride with a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE). The FAA has a page you can search on: Federal Aviation Administration - Designee Locator (http://av-info.faa.gov/designeeSearch.asp?SrchBy=LOC). Just search by different countries until you find one. Not all can do instructor ratings.

Once you have the rating back, you can keep it valid by doing an online FIRC every two years.
