Hello, new here.

I gained my PPL in 1986. I now want to fly again, but have lost the document (D'Oh!)

I applied online for a replacement document & CAA tell me I need a class 2 medical. (I understood my original PPL was good to age 70, I'm 65).

I have a pacemaker. Does this automatically preclude me from a class 2 medical?

I was also told I needed an English Language proficiency certificate. A bit rich, considering the command relating to this requirement contained a glaring grammatical error. . .

Many thanks in advance

Bruce

I am in NZ, not AU. I have a pacemaker. By having it, over here it automatically suspends your medical, but it has been so long its expired anyway. They need to be updated every few years. When you renew your medical it will ask you questions re: heart issues and they may refer you to a specialist to have test carried out mine were $1,100NZ not including the CAA fee and the CAA medical. It was just the cardiology visit.
