If what I've heard they were doing is confirmed, this can't be considered an accident. More like a probability. I hope what I was told is wrong.

What were you told?

Hard to fathom that anyone would be flying VFR in that... God I'd hope not.

I'm not saying here due to the media trolls. Are you one?

But for the record and feel free to print this..

I believe the gyroscope got stuck in the pitot tube and precession caused the latitude nut to spill into the empennage.

Apparently was a six seater, looking for a fourth person..

there was a witness within 1km in a boat that witnessed it (apparently)

No I'm not a troll, I actually hold a frozen ATPL...(missed by 100hrs) f'ing Part 61. That should be enough proof for you.

BTW that's an interesting place to put a gyro!!! Must be a small one.

Where did you acquire a Frozen ATPL? I can't find that category of licence under part 61 or the previous business model.

old industry speak for having passed all the ATPL subjects but not having the required hours to be given a full ATPL

Really, we are going to argue about this when people have died. GROW UP!

You haven't been around long if you haven't heard of a frozen ATPL ! :ugh:

So, you hold a PPL or CPL with passes in ATPL theory?

There is no such thing as a "frozen ATPL" in Australia (except on a few training websites flogging the idea).

It might be 'old industry speak' in the USA, but has no meaning here :)

FFS this is why I very rarely come on here anymore. If you don't know what a frozen ATPL is I'm not going to waste time on you.

I actually hold a frozen ATPL

old industry speak

So which is it? Or is it *actually* like holding your d*** in your hand?

No such thing as a frozen ATPL, before or since Part 61 in Australia except in the minds of some marketing people or as a form of slang.

It certainly doesn't give the poster any credibility on a forum like this and that and the personal abuse to other posters gets him some time out.

If someone would like to restart the thread please go ahead.
