Hello Everybody!
I hope somebody can help me.
Im a German student (sorry for my English) and currently writing a paper about “Rating or review sensor systems for airport surveillance”.
I would like to know: Did the ICAO certificated/ standardized ADS-B?
What about the quality of the GNSS-Data (GPS)? Can we rely on this satellites-data (e.g. 99,99%)? In my opinion ADS-B alone will be never used for Surveillance without any additional navigation technique, like radio navigation or MLAT. One big reason would be spoofing (security). Am I right?
Does any document exist about certification and the required quality of GNSS-data?
Isn’t it more common to send ADS-B via SSR Mode S (ES) or do some Aircrafts send via VHF-Datalink (VDL Mode 4)? I think frequency congestion will occur on big airports because every aircraft and vehicle will send via 1090Mhz, right?
Thanks a lot for any answer!
