Can anybody recommend the correct books to study for the current EASA principles of flight exam and the airframes and engines exam?

I understand I need to pass both to add an SSEA rating to my NPPL(M) license?

There seems to be a myriad of options and I want to ensure I get the latest version.

Thanks in advance.

The Jeremy Pratt AFE and / or the Air Pilot's Manual series of books.

I teach using the APM and suggest also looking at the accompanying Pooleys Exam Prep books for revision.

The APM vol 4 (Aircaft Technical) contains both principles of flight and aircraft knowledge so this would do you for both exams. Don't use an old copy because the latest edition has the relevant EASA requirements.

Whilst slightly off subject.....I also started flying in order to get an NPPL(M) on a Ikarus C42. However I changed to NPPL(A) and in fact wish I had spent the time and money simply getting a PPL. The reason being the studying is very similar for all the above (albeit NPPL(M) is less onerous - although I am no expert in that regard).

Whilst many people will sell you studying material or teach you to fly, people with comprehensive knowledge of the exam syllabus (and the ability to teach that well) are few and far between. Winter is a good time to study. RT is also hard but much of that is familiarity.... Good Luck !
