It would appear that Biggin Hill could have got its extended hours last night; see this article; Bromley Council backs Biggin Hill Airport longer hours - as it happened (From News Shopper) (http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/14103096.THE_VERDICT__Bromley_Council_backs_Biggin_Hill_Airp ort_longer_hours___as_it_happened/).

That, together with the possible advent of a RNAV IAP to runway 03 with 300ft minima (see Runway 03 Airspace Change Proposal | London Biggin Hill Airport (http://www.bigginhillairport.com/acp/) Consultation Doc - Figure 6), and the ongoing ‘Northolt Bashing’ might indicate the start of a bit of a resurgence of traffic at the place.

Sucessful airports pay more in business rates. Control of, and all revenue from, business rates are being returned to local councils. Maybe the council have seen a potential revenue stream. Maybe this will help limit rises in council tax. Council taxpayers can vote, business ratepayers can't (unless they're also resident).

How long till the penny drops at Hillingdon council and the Northolt and Heathrow bashing ends.
