Hello

If a pilot is type rated in the GV but hasn't flown in 13 years, what would be required to get recurrent in the G550? Is there a penalty for the time away from the airplane or can he just do a normal recurrent?

Thanks for any help!

What is on the licence? If it's a uk one and it no longer states the GV on the back of the licence then they would have to probably undergo the type rating again. We have a 3 year rule for our types, any longer than that and it's almost a full type course.

They would then have to pass the Skill test and apply to the CAA for the rating. You wouldn't have to do the circuits I believe.
