Russia is firing missiles from warships in the Caspian into Syria. Are they actually firing up and over civilian aircraft using the narrow corridor created after the Ukraine MH fiasco?

Sir, those were cruise missiles that fly over the ground at a fairly low altitude, not high altitude SAMs. If you look at a graphic depiction, it appears that they flew over some of Iran's and Iraq's airspace, which I'll suggest was pre coordinated government-to-government, in a closed room or via secured/encrypted means.

Look up Kalibr or Sizzler cruise missile (a bit like the US or UK Tomahawk) and you'll see how that tends to fly. Anyone at FL altitudes won't be at risk. Light civil and helicopters might be.
