My boss is thinking about more range, someday. That is easy to find, but we also have one fairly short runway we fly into on occasion. Of course it has displaced thresholds on both ends and is TODA restricted, not much but it counts.
The shortest of those is a landing distance of 1087m and the shorter of the two TODA is 1197m. The airport is basically at sea level and very seldom gets above 30 degrees, the boss has no problem waiting until evening if we have to.
The biggest catch is it is on an island 320 miles away which means carrying some extra fuel out then adding a minimal amount for the return trip. There are no obstacles and with the displaced thresholds you have a bit of pavement to work with in the flare on landing.
Payload is typically 400Kgs.
If anybody has the books or one of those magic performance computer's can you tell me if the 800, 800XP or 1000 would work?
