Simples really,

Why would a 737 route from Kassel, North Germany all the way to Mallorca at 23K, fuel burn must be very high not to mention outside of normal IFR airways? Happened on Tuesday evening, seemed to be an uneventful flight otherwise. (FR24 mis-squawking?)

Thanks in Anticip,

Because an airconditioning pack was inop, limiting the flight to FL250 as per MEL.

Long time since I looked at the B737 MEL .. other potential problems might be a U/S drop down mask system .. likewise 25k

I did a 1000 mile sector at a similar altitude recently and compared to the more normal FL370/390, it took about an extra 30 minutes. No issue at all with ATC throughout Europe.
