Hallo Folks.

I have to do an Aoc for FI revalidation with following privileges: (a), (b), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h) . (I still do not know why it is not written like my previous easa license FI/IRI/CRI with the applicable ratings; but that is another story)

I am trying to help my examiner (non UK) get the head around caa Uk forms.

We did the notification of test and I already did the refresher seminar witch has been signed in the SRG 1135.

now there are 2 forms:

SRG 1135 and SRG 1177:

1) should they be both filled and send to CAA UK?

2) on SRG 1135 on page 2 under point 7.APPLICATION: should I tick only the FI part or also the IRI and CRI part?

3) on SRG page 2 under point 8.FLIGHT EXPERIENCE: since I am doing an Aoc is it relevant? should I fill it anyway?

4) on SGR 1177 under SECTION 4: ME privileges: even if I am flying with a SEP should we fill it since I have ME privileges?

thank you for your help

Are you a helicopter FI? If not, why are you interested in the form SRG 1177?

Have you or examiner read Table A10 B of the UK CAA FE Handbook? May be worth a glance.

You will note that the SRG1169 has 7 sections wheras AMC3 FCL.935 Assessment of competence only has 5 sections. Just stick to the EASA requirement and not add the CAA gold plating. The ME Section is only completed if the test is conducted in a ME aircraft

on SRG 1135 on page 2 under point 7.APPLICATION: should I tick only the FI part or also the IRI and CRI part? IRI and CRI are stand alone qualifications, unless they are in Section XII of your licence do not tick them or the CAA will think you are applying for a additional rating.

The Examiner sends the 1169 to the CAA, the candidate sends the 1135 to the CAA.

The CAA issued a revised IN (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/InformationNotice2015050.pdf) on 30th June which highlights in Para 6 that a Non-UK Examiner cannot sign your licence unless specifically authorised by the CAA.

Pardon me for piggy-backing on this one, but I'm in a similar situation (shortly renewing my FI(A) and IRI(A) which lapsed at the end of last year via an AoC, FI seminar already attended).

Picking up on Whopity's post above, I only seem to have my lapsed FI(A) cert showing in Section XII Certificate of Revalidation on pgs 5 and 6 on the front of my EU licence; should the separate IRI(A) cert not be there too? The IRI is included under Section XII (confusing this....) Ratings, certificates and privileges on pg 4 as in FCL.905.FI and shown as (g)/(g)(IR(R)). On the back of my licence under Ratings previously held by holder is shown IR(Restricted) which presumably refers to IMC privileges. Any clarity on this would be greatly appreciated.

A couple of observations on the SRG forms:

SRG 1135 - Arewerunning, my version (Issue 09) has Section 7 Application at the top of pg 3, not on pg 2. My version appears to the latest in circulation. Are you using the right one? Whopity, I hadn't appreciated I would need to make a separate application (and presumably pay a fee) to the CAA as all my ratings/certificates appear on the front of my licence; I thought my licence could simply be renewed by the FIE just as a CRE and IRE did for my recently-renewed SEP, MEP and IR, in accordance with IN-2014/109.

SRG 1169 - Whopity, the additional two sections 1169 has over AMC FCL.935 seem to relate to (i) any secondary (safety) exercises flown in addition to the main taught exercise, and (ii) instrument exercises where these are flown as the main exercise (as would be the case when renewing an IRI). Surely they're both valid and should be completed where relevant?

Many thanks,
HW
