Heading to Alaska this summer and trying to find a safe and affordable means of:
--Getting into the Arctic Circle without having to drive. The "tour" drives take 13-14 hours and the flights cost around $350 a piece which doesn't seem worth it for just a quick flight and turnaround.
Actually booked a flight on Ravn Air between Fairbanks and Fort Yukon which cost about half of the $350. However, Ravn has had 4-5 crashes in the past 18 months which included fatalities on 1 or 2 of those. (I'm going to cancel those flights.)
--Doing the Denali air flyover. Looks phenomenal but very pricey.
Is anyone familiar with Ravn Air and, if so, what are your thoughts?
And, does anyone have suggestions for a less expensive and safe flight for either of these two activities?
Thanks in advance.
