Hello again all,

I am just curious (nosey really) on the cost of flight training from zero to securing a job with an airline...

All comments welcome, preferably the older the better as I am more interested to see the comparison between training now and 'X' amount of years ago.

I am aware of previous threads on the true cost of flight training.

Please also if you comment, could you state whether your training was modular/integrated.

Thank you.

Modular. I had the choice of going Stateside to complete, but it made no sense financially when you considered visas, housing, etc.

Must have been something like £50,000 to fATPL. The airline picked up the tab for the type rating.

Thanks dash8driver1312, I also forgot to add... What year you undertook pilot studies, just to give me a gauge :ok:

1995 - CAP509 at Cabair

I believe the course was about £36000 less 25% NVQ tax relief:D plus accommodation and living expenses whilst there, took about 15 months.

No job so did instructing, can't remember the costs of the instructor rating, must have been £3-5000 I would have thought.

Never paid for a type rating:ok: (and long may it last)
