View Full Version : Foreign licence conversion
I passed my PPL in January 2014 in Cyprus, however for various reasons I haven't flown since. I'm now back in the UK and was wondering whether I have to convert the licence to a UK licence to start flying again. Of course I won't have got the required hours to keep the rating so I'll have to do that, also are there any exams that are particular to the UK?
Thanks

Is your Cypriot licence issued in accordance with Part-FCL?
Yeah it is. It says "Issued in accordance with PART-FCL" and "This licence complies with ICAO standards" also "EASA form 141 Issue 1".

Then no conversion is necessary though any organisation with whom you intend to fly will wish to check you out.
Aha, fantastic. That's more money for flying then :)
Thanks
