Hi everyone,

I have a question concerning the TRE authorization. Is it possible to conduct a type rating skill test with the TRE authorization valid but the TRI rating expired ? Unable to find this info in the aircrew.
Many thanks

FCL.1000 Examiner certificates
(a) General. Holders of an examiner certificate shall:
(1) hold an equivalent licence, rating or certificate to the ones for which they are authorised to conduct skill tests, proficiency checks or assessments of competence and the privilege to instruct for them;
(2) be qualified to act as PIC on the aircraft during a skill test, proficiency check or assessment of competence when conducted on the aircraft.

Not strictly 100% true, if its a single you require FI rating, twin you require a TRI:ok:

How does that work then? Must admit I'm not 100% up on the SPA TRI stuff however if you only need an FI to teach for it why would you get a TRE? Surely an FE would suffice?

If it requires a type rating you need a TRI, if not then an FI surely?

I'm not 100% up on the SPA TRI stuff To teach HP SPA you need to be a TRI not FI or CRI; to examine you need to be a TRE not FE or CRE.

Thought so but wasn't confident enough to post.
