Can anyone tell me how the ailerons are balanced on the PA28 -161?

On visual inspection there appears to be no balance system and the POH makes no reference to one.

Or maybe it's just not required?

Thanks for any help.

Mass balance weights attached to the ailerons, but fully concealed in the wing itself, iirc.

search "PA28 aileron" in ebay, someone's bound to selling one and has a pic up of it.

The PA28 -140 does have a mass balance concealed in the wing but I cannot see the same for the PA28 -161.

Probably doesn't need them as the mean hinge line has metal ahead and behind so probably balances on the Warrior, in fact all the taper wing aircraft?
The old Cherokee is straight wing with straight aileron hinges so needs balancing.

Unlike the stabilator!
Had that mass balance come loose on one aircraft.

BigEndBob, thanks for that - I did wonder.

Of course a nice little experiment.
Glue a straw to the edge of a piece of card and use say a knitting needle as a hinge. Then when the wind blows or hold outside open window of car, place needle edge on to wind and see if it flutters, then angle to wind and see if it stops.
Might prove the theory.
