More bombing raids-this time by Egypt against neighbour Libya. There was a time until recently when a story like this would be world headline news.
Libya truly a train-crash of a country since the RAF and others bombed the blazes out of it. Now ISIS are becoming a major factor, hence the localish air warfare again.
Feels as though to myself at least that the noose is coming ever closer around Europe these days. With mass immigration and some many bad 'uns lurking within the UK (oh yes they are), I'm expecting an urban attack at any day now along the lines of Paris or Copenhagen or Sydney, and am dreading my journey back home via London's transport systems.
Am I alone in this? i.e. Expecting a terrorist attack at any time? Haven't really though about it for years, since the IRA days anyway. Or am I being simply too windy?

First time ever I find myself 'going active' as I travel the underground, actually expecting something to happen.
And now my daughter is old enough she is traveling around London as well.
You mention the IRA, this in no way excuses what they did, but at least they talked.
These bastards just want us all dead, no compromise.
If it is all out War they they want, let us retaliate with disproportionate force.
If there is collateral damage so be it.
God forgive me, but If my children are a target so are theirs.

I've been blithering on about this for years.

I honestly believe that we are paying the price for rampant Political Correctness where the first casualty was an ability to tell the plain and simple truth.

We also have to thank Mr Blair for blindly following Dubya - I think this scenario was likely to happen, but made worse and accelerated due to the West's intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Strikes me, the lefty do-gooders are going to have to emerge from their blinkers sometime soon as this country needs to re-arm and re-orientate its armed forces to cope with this threat - it's rapidly expanding beyond the ability of a Police force operating with one arm tied behind its back. GCHQ et al.

In the seventies, I recall walking to work in London keeping my distance from post boxes - until they closed them all up. This is different. As has been said, no mercy is being shown, no demands that can possibly be met, made. It would appear that we are at the point of war for want of a better description. I believe that in the last couple of wars, internment was put in place. Undeniably, some innocents would be wronged but at least Europe wouldn't have to watch its own back while trying to deal with the problem abroad.

I lay the blame firmly in the court of the Americans (followed by the rest of the 'West') - they encouraged their idea of 'freedom' and 'democracy' to countries with too many ethnic and religious differences to make that system work. There are times where a stable dictatorship is better for the world than an unstable democracy.

Stable and relatively benign dictatorships work in many parts of the world, but sadly the proof of that usually comes after they have been replaced by 'democratic' regimes.

The world is littered with basket-case countries, whose inhabitants are suffering and dying under the new order and were better off under the old regimes.

This is what political correctness and policies of appeasement have brought upon us.
