View Full Version : Home build aircraft in Austria?

Hoping to move from the sand pit to Austria in the next few years and would like to build my own aircraft, in particular, the Aviat Eagle II. Can anybody advise whether the Austrians have an authority in place to enable home built aircraft, similar to the permit to fly scheme? Also, any nice airfields around the Graz area from which to fly.
Many thanks

Find the national homebuilders club, it is called "Igo Etrich Club". Be prepared for some German-only texts, though.

Thanks for the info, will brush up on my schüle Deutsch! See there is an Eagle on the register OE-CRE so someone did it!

The Igo Etrich Club (http://www.amateurflugzeugbau.at/) was already metioned.

For an airfield near Graz, try Weiz (LOGW (http://www.logw.at/frameset.asp)), with probably the highest density of homebuild aircraft in Austria.

To see the authorities requirements for homebuild aircraft, hop over to the local authority (ACG): LTH 22C (http://www.austrocontrol.at/jart/prj3/austro_control/data/dokumente/iCn35_LTH_LFA_ACE_022.pdf)

Again, all in german.
